Description
✅ Carbon fiber composites
✅ Optimized geometry with chip breaker
✅ Up-cut
✨ Dia.HC coated surface
The Mirror-Line down-cut milling cutters for composites and fiber-reinforced plastics made of solid carbide are designed as multi-cutters (5–10 cutting edges).
The milling cutters were developed for carbon fiber materials to minimize damage to composite materials, such as delamination and significant loss of mechanical strength. They are made from a highly abrasion-resistant carbide substrate with a cutting geometry that breaks down the carbon fibers and keeps heat generation to a minimum. Low frictional heat prevents the disintegration of composite materials and ensures clean, precise cuts.
Mirror Line milling cutters are coated with Dia.HC nano-coating, which is characterized by extreme hardness and heat resistance.
Areas of application for the composites milling cutter:
Aerospace: Structural components (e.g., fuselage shells, wing spars, frames) made of CFRP
Automotive (especially motorsports): Lightweight components, monocoques, crash structures, interior parts
Wind energy: Rotor blade half-shells made of CFRP/GFRP
Medical technology: Prostheses, orthoses, device housings made of fiber-reinforced materials
Rail vehicle construction: CFRP interior parts and body parts
Boat building: Hull parts, masts, structural components made of CFRP
Sports equipment industry: Bicycle frames, rackets, skis, carbon helmets
Electronics: CFRP housings, antenna carriers, structured housing parts
Mechanical engineering: Functional and design elements made of CFRP for weight reduction
